-Check well in advance with your place of destination¿s embassy to see if any vaccines are required or recommended before travel.

-Make sure that all required travel documentation is valid for at least six months after the date of your departure.

-Be sure to pack in your hand luggage a copy of your passport and identification card. (Should you loose either your passport or identification card, having a copy may help in the replacement of the lost item).

-Make sure to carefully read all information regarding your trip: flight itinerary, vouchers, hotel information, travel restrictions, cancellation and modification penalties.

-If you are bringing a camera or camcorder, be sure that your batteries are fully charged, you have sufficient film or memory, and that the voltage of your charger complies with that of the country you are visiting.

-Be sure to travel with a small amount in the currency of your destination in case of an emergency or for any small purchases you may wish to make.

-Try to avoid carrying large amounts of cash. Instead, use credit cards or travelers checks.

-Make sure that your credit card can be used in foreign countries and that your credit limit is sufficient to cover any possible charges you plan to make.

-Verify with your cellular phone carrier that your cell phone can be used at your destination and purchase in advance telephone calling cards.

Jet Lag:

Jet Lag is caused by the desynchronization of one´s internal clock when traveling through different time zones.

How to Combat Jet Lag:

-Be sure to get a good nights sleep before you commence your trip and try to eliminate all sources of stress your day of travel.

-On your day of travel, try to get some exercise (exercise has shown to help reduce stress and promote relaxation).

-Travel in loose, comfortable clothing.

-Try not to eat a heavy meal the night before your travel so as to help your body adjust to pressure in the airplane cabin or to the altitude of the place you are traveling.

-While on board an aircraft, try to eat light meals and keep well hydrated. Drinking large amounts of alcohol or caffeinated beverages while in flight may lead to dehydration so be sure to drink lots of water.

-While on board an aircraft, be sure to move around and stimulate your circulation (try to walk the length of the cabin and be sure to frequently stretch your arms and legs).

-One you have arrived to your destination, it is important to adapt to the local time. Immediately adjust your watches, stay awake until your usual bed time, and wake up at your normal time. Also be sure to eat meals accordingly.

-Eating a protein rich breakfast and lunch (cheese, eggs, milk, meat and fish) and a carbohydrate rich dinner (rice, pasta, etc), will help you re-adjust your internal clock.

Hotel/Aparthotel Check-In/Check-Out Times:

The Check-In/Check-Out time for a majority of properties outside of the United States is usually 12:00 noon however these times are subject to change depending upon the season. Certain properties also have their own Check-In/Check-Out times and clients must check with the property at which they are staying to reconfirm these times.

Apartment Check-In/Check-Out Times:

The Check-In time for a majority of properties outside of the United States is usually between 05:00 pm and 08:00 pm and the Check-Out time is usually before 10:00 am. These times are subject to change depending upon the season. Certain properties also have their own Check-In/Check-Out times and clients must check with the property at which they are staying to reconfirm these times.

Airport Check In Times:

It is the client´s responsibility to confirm with the airline with which they are traveling the amount of time in advance they should arrive at the airport.

Flights:

-All prices quoted are subject to change at time of booking. In order to confirm an airline ticket at the rate quoted (or similar to the quoted rate), we recommend that you book as soon possible.

-Some taxes may not be included in the price of your airline ticket (such as airport taxes) and may need to be paid once you check in at the airport.

Changes and Cancellations

The best available rates confirmed through our web site are subject each individual air lines restrictions and are thus, non-cancelable and non-changeable (unless otherwise noted). It is not possible to use your airline ticket in any other way than that intended. In order to use the return trip of a round trip ticket, one must use the first segment of their ticket. Certain airlines only allow for the emission of electronic tickets. Issuing a paper ticket may incur an additional charge. Tickets may only be issued for trips originating in the United States and may only be issued to the credit card or Viajes El Corte Inglés card holder.

Documentation

All airlines require passengers to present either a passport or personal identification card (depending on your final destination) at time of check-in in order to verify the identity of each passenger. Said documentation is required both at the airline check-in counters, security check points, and at the boarding gates. It is the client´s responsibility to have all required documentation (passport, travel visa, etc) and medical clearance (vaccines, etc) in order to travel. Passengers who are consequently not cleared for travel will not be refunded.

Airport Security:

-Passengers are allowed a limited amount of liquids* in their carry on luggage. Said liquids must be stored in 100ml or less containers and placed within a transparent and sealable plastic bag (maximum capacity of bag: 1 liter/ size: 20cm x 20cm (approximately)

*Liquids: Beverages (water, soda, juice, wine, beer, etc), soup, syrup, perfume, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, aerosols, creams, lotions, oils, toothpaste, shaving cream, shaving gel, hair gel, hair mouse, deodorants, etc.

-When passing through the security check-point, all liquids contained with the small plastic bag must be removed from your hand luggage and place in the provided examination tray so that it may be inspected and passed through the x-ray machine.

Deposits for Possible Damages:

Many hotels require deposits to cover possible damages at the time of check-in. Deposits are usually refunded upon your check out but some properties do not process refunds until your room has been inspected and found to have no damage.

Mandatory Insurance:

Some properties charge a non-refundable mandatory insurance at time of check in.

Credit Card Request at Check-In:

A majority of hotels require a valid credit card at time of check-in as a means to guarantee possible incidentals charges that may be incurred throughout your stay. Many properties may block a certain amount on your credit card to cover these possible incidental charges. This amount is usually unblocked at the time of check-out.

Cribs:

Cribs must be requested at the time of booking your reservation. Due to the limited amount of cribs that a property may offer, cribs are on a request basis only and are not confirmed until your check-in.

Types of Lodging:

Certain hotels offer rates including certain meals. Not include in these rates are any types of beverages. Any beverages consumed must be paid for directly to the property. Information provided on our web site regarding meals is subject to change without notice. Meals included within your reservation that are not consumed are non-refundable and non-transferable. Rates that include certain meals may only apply for a certain number of the total number of passengers occupying the room and any or all additional passengers may have to pay for said meals directly at each property.

Restaurant Access:

Many hotel restaurants have a strict dress code. Client¿s who are not properly dressed may be prohibited from entering the restaurant. Be sure to pack appropriate attire.

Wheelchair Accessibility:

Though certain properties have specified that they have wheelchair accessible rooms and common areas, it is possible that not all areas of the hotel are wheelchair accessible. Due to the limited amount of wheelchair accessible rooms at a majority of properties, it is extremely important to request any wheelchair accessible rooms when making your reservation.

Entertainment:

Many hotels offer various forms of live entertainment (live music, shows, etc). It is important to keep in mind that the shows and music may not be in English (depending on the country you are visiting).

Pets:

If traveling with an animal, it is your responsibility to acquire all necessary authorization (documentation, vaccines, quarantine, etc.) and verify that the property in which you are staying allows pets. Certain properties allow small domesticated pets (generally dogs) but require in advance information regarding the type of animal, it¿s race, it¿s weight, and it¿s height and may also require in advance a copy of it¿s vaccination report. It is important to note that certain areas of the hotel may be restricted to the animals and that the hotel has a right to deny access to any pet. Many hotels also charge a supplemental fee for all pets.

Parking:

A majority of hotels offer parking but it is limited and cannot be reserved in advance. All parking fees must be paid directly to the property.

The special promotions that we have published may require a minimum number of nights stay.
